FROGS

Welcome to Friends and Relations Of Greysbrooke School!

We are a friendly and welcoming group of parents, grandparents and staff who raise money for Greysbrooke by organising fun events throughout the school year, for the children, their families and their friends

All of the money that we raise goes towards providing the children with additional resources and experiences. This has recently enabled the library to be renovated and updated and a super-duper new reading system to be implemented. It has paid for iPad and laptop subscriptions, Early Years educational and play equipment, Maths and Science resources and school PE equipment. We provide water bottles for new starters and hoodies for Year 6. We buy crackers for the Christmas dinners, the eggs for the Easter Egg hunt, all of the little extras that make school more enjoyable for the children. Our on-going task at present is to raise money to make the under-used courtyard into a welcoming and smart outdoor learning area.

We meet at The Plough on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm (except during school holidays) and we are always looking for new members and extra help to organise future events for all the children. It is a friendly and fun meet and the kind owners of The Plough have been known to reward us with free pizza! Please come along even if you can only help at one event a year it all helps!

Our yearly events usually include Chrismas and Summer Fayres, Movie Nights, School disco, Easter Egg hunt, Pantomime, Cake sales and the annual Shenstone Duck Race! There is a Superslide event with large inflatable course for the children to enjoy in school. We organise the Shenstone Fun Run which have benefitted both Greysbrooke and other community groups with the Scouts within the village. We usually team up with Lichfield Round Table to collect money as the Santa Sleigh does the rounds of Shenstone which is both lucrative for the school and a lot of fun! We are always open to more ideas for events and are keen for new people to get involved.

Deborah Swanwick-Baker is chair of FROGS. She coordinates and oversees events and liaises with the school and other FROGS members. Deborah has two children at Greysbrooke and has been chair since February 2022.

Emma Robbins (Vice Chair) assists with all aspects of FROGS and has been in this role since February 2022. She has one child at Greysbrooke and one child who has now moved up to King Edwards.

Louise Skidmore maintains all the finances for FROGS and takes the lead on sponsorship of events. She has been treasurer since February 2022 and has one child at Greysbrooke.

Charlotte Trueman is secretary and has the unevitable task of turning our incoherent chat into legible minutes to be distributed to interested parties. She also assists with all other aspects of organisation. She too has two children at Greysbrooke.

We have a class rep for each year group and they are here to help and assist in any way they can.

Please help support our activities and events to help us support our children.
